Our journey started through a partnership between UNOPS and the World Vision Nepal Innovation Lab 3 years ago, following the devastating Nepal Earthquake of 2015. As we were looking at the massive reconstruction effort ahead, we wanted to find a way to ensure that we rebuilt everything to the highest possible quality. However, with our many years experience in the humanitarian and development sectors, we had found that available monitoring and data collection tools were not meeting the needs of projects in complex situations or in incredibly difficult terrain.
There was a need for an effective digital quality assurance, remote supervision and monitoring platform, that would assist project managers with remote monitoring. The platform needed to offer support to distant field staff, allow for communication between all levels of an organization and include intuitive monitoring and reporting functions. With this, FieldSight was born and developed iteratively over 2 years. The platform is now used by partners in 10 countries and 17 organizations.
We are the first ‘graduate’ of the Nepal Innovation lab, and have recently moved offices to be closer to our UNOPS Nepal colleagues. With an ever growing team, the platform is now monitoring more than 60,000 houses, WASH sites, schools, police stations, and other infrastructure, in difficult-to-access locations across the world.
With the continued digitization of data collection and monitoring, we see a future where the learnings and quality improvements of projects can be shared across organizations and agencies to better serve the whole humanitarian sector.
FieldSight is a leader in improving quality assurance and monitoring in difficult-to-access locations. We are also the first digital platform built for infrastructure and project monitoring in the humanitarian sector.
We assure quality by providing insight for the entire project from beginning to end, creating actionable data that organizations can analyze, visualize, and map.
We assist Project Management through replicating the organizational structure which allows differentiated access to data, including a donor viewing option and several communication channels to approve, comment or flag submissions.
We offer tailored support to M&E departments and Project Managers to digitize and improve their data collection and learning through a user friendly interface, in depth one to one support, and training to assist with the full adoption of services as per the organization and user needs.
We provide tools for all stakeholders in a project, from tailormade educational materials and project plans for field users in remote locations and staff in offices, to specialized features for donors and key partners.
Powered by UNOPS, we are focused on implementation, often in the most challenging environments, with a commitment to UN values and implementation efficiency.
