AGRICULTURE

Overview

The number of undernourished people in the world has steadily risen since 2014, according to  the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). We are far from being able to achieve the second Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) to eradicate hunger and malnutrition in all its forms by 2030. Small and medium hold farms have the potential to address the challenges of hunger, food insecurity and malnutrition. The right technology must be used to measure the outcomes of agriculture, livestock, and fisheries in order to unleash the full potential of these farms.
Mobile technology provides new ways to monitor agricultural progress.  FieldSight has been used on an agricultural project aiming to modernize family farming where surveyors have collected large amounts of different data types including photographs, measurements, geo-referenced information of plots, and certification information from beneficiaries. Certification data errors can be reduced, supply chain information systematized, and payments to contractors streamlined. Digitizing this information ensures actionable data that informs decisions about ways to produce food more efficiently, achieving a world without hunger and malnutrition.

Key Features

Custom Forms:

Customize digitized forms to collect more than 22 kinds of quantitative and qualitative data types, from numerical measurements to text and audio options.

Offline Mobile Data Collection:

Data can be collected offline enabling monitoring of agriculture projects located in remote project areas.

Classify and Designate Form Schedule:

Forms can be classified into staged and scheduled forms, allowing surveyors to gather correct data at the correct time during each phase of agricultural production.

Geo-Tagging:

Map agriculture project sites, increase transparency of project activities, and confirm the veracity of submissions with geo-tagged data.

Maps:

Visualize project data geographically with maps of all sites and associated data.

Dashboard and Reports:
